About HCI Research Lab

The Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research lab is a multi-disciplinary collaborative team of researchers focused on the design, usage and evaluation of HCI research, Artificial intelligence and generalised ICT research.

The research team is a collaboration between researchers in two Ugandan Universities:

  1. Soroti University, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering 
  2. Islamic University in Uganda, Department of Computer Science

This research team introduces a high-quality computing area known as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), which takes a human-centred approach to the design, deployment, usage and evaluation of computing systems in multiple scientific research fields.

The research lab focuses on the role of HCI in developing contextually effective, usable and sustainable ICT innovations that are appropriate for solving UN SDG challenges in our African communities.
